Hi UK Paranormal,
Sometime back I booked into The Ringwood Hall Hotel, at Chesterfield. As I walked into my room (I can't
remember the number), it had a feeling "like someone had just walked out".
Sounds weird but that is the best way I
can describe it. The feeling was so strong that I spent the first five or ten
minutes looking around the room, lord alone knows what for!!
Anyway off to bed. I eventually put the light out and I lay there in what seemed
to be the blackest room I have ever been in. I was just thinking about this,
when a red "orb" appeared six foot or so above me to the left on the ceiling. I
stared at it and blinked and it was still there, so I sat up to look at it and it
was still there. I stared around the room to see if there was a light source, a
TV standby light or something. I couldn't see anything, so I put the light on
and walked around the room and investigated. I found nothing and eventually went
to bed with the light on!!!
Anyway, about two-thirty in the morning I awoke, face down, with someone sitting
on my back and they seemed to be "tickling" my sides and back. I was startled
and still waking up but was sure I was in a hotel room alone. As I was awakening
I shouted "Get off!!" (or an expletive variant), while twisting around and
trying to "elbow off" who ever was on my back. As I twisted round I looked over
my back and saw nothing there!!! I was still twisting and turning to throw off
whomever it was....and was getting annoyed that they were still there on my back
and not taking the hint!!! I shouted some more, eventually turned over and it
stopped.I immediately got up, looked around the room and tried to make sense of it. I
then wrote a short account for me to read should I fall asleep again and think
it was a dream in the morning. I went back to bed sitting bolt upright and spent
the night drifting in and out of consciousness. In the morning I got up and went
straight over to the account, read it and thought "S*** it happened!!"
Now of the "encounter" itself. I do not think it was threatening, it was kind of
the feeling you would get if a lover or child mischievously thinks it would be
amusing to wake you up by tickling you. My reaction was just a surprised
response.
I was once upon a time, a total sceptic, but a few experiences have made me
think there may be something else going on. It could be spiritual in nature, it
could be a chemical reaction in the old hyperactive noggin or something
else...maybe madness. But it was certainly a strange experience. I am convinced
it was not a dream or nightmare, others will think otherwise of course. I would
love to be able to repeat that experience with witnesses and sensory recording
equipment, just to satisfy my curiosity. Be interesting to know what others
think.
