Certain television programmes has had a lot to
do with the sudden increase in public demand to attend 'Haunted' locations and
take part in vigils. You must never use movies or TV shows as guidelines for
your encounters with the paranormal. The media often portray ghosts and
paranormal investigations
as something more dangerous and spectacular than it actually is. Although the
phenomena is spectacular, in reality
it's usually the small and subtle things which will startle you.
It all depends what you personally want to gain
from ghost hunting, you may be just curious and prefer to experience an
investigation from a public investigation event, you may wish to join a group as
a hobby and have some fun, interesting nights out getting more involved within
the group setting, or you may be very serious and you may want to thoroughly
research the subject as much as you can, in any case investigating can be extremely
rewarding. The UK-Paranormal team can offer you all of the above, from public
events to full investigative training if you wish.

Properly conducted investigations with a
specialized team could go on for weeks, as reported activity can vary
considerably from one night to the next. All the information has to be recorded,
meticulously monitored and thoroughly researched. This can't be done on one
visit or on a ghost tour, in fact studies and research may have to go on for
many, many years taking into account many different aspects of the case, some of
which include sidereal time, weather conditions and the like.
Probably the best way to learn to
investigate is to join a local group and see how they do it. This way you are
sure to learn much more from their experiences than going it alone. With each
new investigation you will always learn something new. Remember hauntings are
often subtle; ghosts aren't always obvious, they don't just jump out at us. Some
are as solid as you and I and they all don't look transparent and hover around
old graveyards and mansions. I have personally witnessed two such solid
apparitions, one a motor car and the other a Dray and shire horse, I would have
paid little attention to them had I not seen them disappear!
We all have probably encountered
such phenomena through our life time, but we wouldn't necessarily know that it
was
not 'real' like you and me. Our team of investigators make it our business to
record and research in detail such events by various means, the paranormal is a
vast subject not just limiting itself to ghostly sightings, other paranormal
subjects join forces i.e., telekinesis, remote viewing etc, the list is endless;
but all have a vital part to play and we consider these whilst studying and
researching the ghost phenomenon.
Paranormal Investigators Tips:
Below are a few tips to bear in mind
whilst out investigating, some very much a common sense approach.
1. Never go out investigating
alone, always have someone with you - the more the better. Your safety is
paramount to any investigation.
2. Always make sure you have
permission to be where you are from the owner of the land or property you are
in. Please respect the site you are investigating. Do not litter, always take
your rubbish home or dispose if it in a proper manner.
3. Have a mobile phone with
you, though normally we have them switched to 'Silent' when investigating so as
to not disturb mediums at work or 'spoil' recordings and other experiments.
4. Always ask permissions
before filming, recording and taking pictures, some people have rules as to what
you are not to photograph etc.
5. Please refrain from using
perfumes/aftershaves or other strong smelling body sprays, this can interfere
with the oil factory senses, as some spirits sometimes like to emit smells to
let you know they are around.
6. Please do not partake in alcohol
or non prescription drugs prior to or during an investigation, they can have a
mind altering effect which in turn could render you or others to danger and
could also breach health and safety regulations.
7. Please show respect for the
opinions and beliefs of others.
